My Home Town
My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.
But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had no work. They lived a hard life.
In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.
I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

My hometown is a medium-sized city, locating in East China. The economic growth rate of my hometown often takes the first or second place in my province, and the GDP per capita of my hometown has exceed USD 2000 in the year of 2004.
Apart from its economic achievement, my hometown is also famous for its beautiful scenary and historical relics. Taihu Lake, the third largest lake of fresh water in China locates to the west of my hometown. Great historic figures, such as the Prince Chunsheng of the Spring and Autumn Era and Gu Kaizhi, the famous painter of the East Jin Dynasty, once lived in my hometown. Tourists from all over the country come to my hometown to enjoy its natural and historical heritages.
