voluntary：自愿的，自发的；故意的 involuntary：非自愿的；自然而然的；非故意的
既然voluntary是自愿的自发的，那怎么又是故意的呢？既然involuntary是非自愿的，又怎么是自然而然的呢？感觉很错乱啊 谢谢解释！

其实，英文中一词多意很普遍，意思相近的一些解释可以联系起来想，而有的意思之间根本就没关系，是独立的意思。在英译汉或者汉译英的时候，不同的意思都可以用这个词，根据语境就能知道是哪个意思。
像“自愿的”和“故意的”，之间没关系，只是这个词有两个不同的意思，在翻译的时候你需要用到这两个意思的时候，都可以用voluntary而已。
1.自愿的：His labor is, therefore, not voluntary but forced, it is forced labor.
因此，他的劳动不是自愿的而是被迫的，是被迫的强制劳动。
2.故意的：Ignorance , when it is voluntary , is criminal . 无知，如果是故意的，就是犯罪。
3.自发的：However, there is no single correct path in this process, and all states are voluntary.
但是，在这个过程中并没有单个合适的路径，并且所有的状态都是自发的。
