小区英文翻译community

此外，我们说的“小区”有时候除了表达建筑群的概念之外，还可以指人群。比如这个句子“这一事件在我们小区引发了激烈的讨论”。此时的“小区”并不是指物理概念上的小区，而是指“小区居民”。这种情况下应该怎么翻译呢？
英语里面也有一个概念可以表示“小区居民”：apartment community，国外网站对它的定义是：
