在耒阳的历史上，相传杜甫是坐船到了耒阳，在耒阳落水而亡。他的一些衣物被埋在耒阳一中的杜甫纪念院内。纪念圆非常的古朴。我非常喜欢那里的桂花。每到中秋节就会闻到浓浓的花香。

在耒阳还有蔡伦纪念园，杜甫公园，发明家广场。顺便说一句，发明家广场最适合放风筝。地方很宽阔。
