Works were carried out on October, 8th. The place was not fenced properly: the role of warning protection was played by the two-meter piece of a striped tape lying on the ground. The workers were nonprofessionals, judging by absence in their helmet equipment, “protectors” on ropes and other trifles providing safety both of them and civilian.
It is hard to imagine what will be in winter when such steeplejacks will work on clearing roofs from snow. How many fatal cases will be both among workers, and among pedestrians?
For all the time of photographing the person who should be responsible for safety of passers-by and should warn them about the conducted works, has never addressed neither to pedestrians, nor to the annoying press photographer who carried out shooting directly on a dangerous site, with any prevention of possibility of subjects which could fall from height .
Dismantled parts of a pipe were dumped on sidewalk, thus besides there were no warning shouts.
These houses are in so-called “dormitory area”, and just during the works schoolboys were coming back home from classes.
To pedestrians who noticed the falling of the next piece of a pipe in a couple of meters, had to pass it by, risking to be brought down.
The worker and the prevention.
