Summary:Reform of the Security Council is a very difficult topic to discuss because of the interests at stake and the balance of power and structure of the body. The three main issues to resolve, membership, veto power, and working practices, seem simple at first glance, but one need only see how long they have been under consideration to understand just how difficult it is to arrive at consensus to change. In theory, there are many completely fair ways to go about changing these issues, but in practice, these solutions would be idealistic and disagreeable to some states. For the committee to be
productive, it is essential for delegates to keep in mind which changes are and are not realistic based on the standpoints of other members.
