when和while 的区别?

2. when可以表示"and then (suddenly)",这时是并列句。（while没有这个用法）
He was walking along the road when he saw his friend.
3. While用在首时，相当于though
While he was not here, we could finish the work in time.
4. while还可以表示对照：(译成：而……）

5. while还可构成许多词组：
after a while 过了一会儿
a little while 不久，一会儿
all the while 一直；始终
quite a while 有一阵子，半天；相当长一段时间
