There are many different ways owners can abuse animals in their care. Some are visible without having to get close to the animal while others take a closer inspection. If an animal is wearing a collar and it is so tight, it is cutting into the neck. This is a form of abuse. If you see an animals with an unusual amount of wounds or scars that have built up on their body it is quite likely that this animal is suffering from physical abuse and needs your help.
Skin conditions
Skin conditions may be another sign of abuse that should be taken very seriously. If you notice an animal that has lost patches of hair or their skin is full of bumps and rashes. This indicates that the animal is not being taken care of. The rash could be the result of flea infestation, ticks or one of the many other parasites that can make an animal's life miserable.
There will be visible signs of lack of grooming in the animal such as hair matting, nails that are overgrown sometimes where the claw is grown into the foot pad. It is not unusual for an animal in this condition to show signs of infection with heavy discharge coming from the nose and eyes.
Extreme weight loss
If you see an animal that looks very thin he is suffering from abuse. If the animal is suffering from lack of food it is quite likely he is suffering from lack of water as well. You can test the animal for dehydration by lifting the skin and watch how long it takes to go back in place. The longer it takes the more dehydration that has taken place.
In turn if the animal is suffering from lack of food and water he will be very lethargic and may not be able to stand or wobble if he does. An animal that suffers from dehydration may act confused and extremely tired.
Physically beating an animal
Sometimes you may be privy to seeing an owner beat an animal. This is very obvious that the animal is being abused and should be reported immediately. Usually it is not difficult to see old scars or wounds that have not healed with such an animal. The sooner an animal like this is rescued the better for the animal.
Animals that have been treated in this manner are usually very fearful of everything and anything and it may take a very long time to build up a trust in this animal where he becomes secure enough to trust again.
All these are the phenomenon which destroy the animals' rights, we need to analysis these phenomenon and then try to protect the animals' rights.
